Sanavardo Estate
Sanavardo means “a place to stroll” in Georgian. The name takes us back all the way to the late 19th and early 20th centuries when Prince Alexandre Chavchavadze adopted this land as both a recreational facility for foreign guests and a location for vine cultivation.Positioned conveniently in the very center of the principal micro-zone of Napareuli (Telavi Municipality), which is popular for its rich wine-making history and trademark wine, produced in the late 19th century, Saniore Winery boasts a strategic location. In addition to its proximity with vineyards, the winery currently holds the capacity to process 4,000 tones of grapes.Since nature is the fundamental element of life at Sanavardo, conceptualizing our label was essentially straightforward: we decided to portray local nature in the form of some of the most fascinating or loved members of fauna. Wrapped in the majestic Caucasus mountains and conveniently located on the inter- section of Alazani, Lopota and the Didkhevi rivers, Sanavardo is home to some of the most amazing creatures. Each label comes with a Latin name of the animal/bird featured and a brief story, narrated in customarily playful Georgian style.
